Pedagogy of the art department
The objective of the art department is to train artists and creators using a non-standard approach that combines the acquisition of know-how, theoretical teaching and inclusion in contemporary practices.
According to this general objective, the curriculum aims to offer the most complete training possible in the field of contemporary creation, to give students the opportunity to acquire a personalised artistic and cultural level and technical and technological skills, thus allowing them to build an autonomous and unique plan of study. The teaching is characterised by an emphasis placed on “workshop culture”: the acquisition of knowledge through the experience of mediums and techniques (iron, wood, moulding/modelling, printmaking, silver photography, painting, model-making) and modern technology (digital sound and image, 3D image, programming, web, etc.) which allow students to approach the idea of art through practice. This training is therefore both general and personalised, combining a theoretical dimension and tying that in to practice, research work and reflection on the function and status of the artist and the author.
