The research comprises two series of elements: the involvement of professors in artistic, pedagogical or theoretical research and the research projects conducted within the institution itself.
These research projects are developed by isdaT staff, theorists, artists or designers, in association with national and international research laboratories, and are part of course work, in order to introduce and develop students’ research abilities. Field trips, conferences, workshops, exhibitions and publications are associated with these projects, all of which form a written and artistic body of work.
Each of the research projects is offered as part of the course to students in fourth and fifth years. Graduates who participated in research during their course may request an additional year as part of the research group. An agreement is then signed between the isdaT and the graduate, specifying the terms and conditions of his or her participation.
The isdaT’s recruitment policy strives to integrate professionals (artists, designers or theorists) who are active in their field of expertise and often associated with research groups and international networks.
